Terms of Service

1. Agreement and eligibility

These Terms are an agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] (“Tilde,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accepting these Terms or using Tilde, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must be at least [MINIMUM AGE] and legally able to enter this agreement. If you use Tilde for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it. Tilde is currently offered in English through United States app stores.

2. The Tilde service

Tilde provides an AI assistant whose ordinary model runs on supported devices. Supported local features may be used without an account. An account enables features such as encrypted Cloud Sync across trusted devices and account-linked support.

AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or outdated. You are responsible for reviewing output and deciding whether to rely on it. Tilde is not a substitute for a qualified professional and must not be used as the sole basis for medical, legal, financial, safety-critical, or emergency decisions. Contact the appropriate professional or emergency service when the situation requires it.

3. Tilde Plus

Tilde Plus adds Web Search and Cloud Reviews. At launch, each active trial or paid billing window includes up to 100 Web Searches and50 Cloud Reviews. Monthly subscriptions reset each billing month. Annual subscriptions also receive a monthly usage reset rather than waiting for the annual renewal date. Tilde shows the applicable reset time in the app.

A successful user-visible request consumes one unit of the applicable allowance. Failed provider requests do not consume a unit. We may add a temporary allowance to an account or adjust a usage window for support purposes, but additional units are not guaranteed. The app may provide a “Need more? Contact us” route near the usage display.

Allowances are intended for your personal use through Tilde. You may not resell access, automate requests outside the provided interfaces, evade limits, or use multiple accounts to circumvent an allowance. We may protect the service from excessive, abusive, or automated use.

4. Free trials, billing, renewal, and cancellation

Available plans, prices, billing frequency, trial length, and introductory eligibility are shown on the paywall and confirmed by Apple or Google before purchase. The launch offering may include monthly and annual plans and a seven-day trial. Storefront price and terms at confirmation control if they differ from descriptive copy elsewhere in Tilde.

Unless canceled, a free trial converts to the selected paid plan when the trial ends, and a paid subscription automatically renews for the same billing period at the then-disclosed price. The applicable store account is charged according to its confirmation and renewal rules. Cancel before the store’s stated deadline to avoid the next charge.

You can manage or cancel through the Apple App Store or Google Play subscription controls linked from Tilde’s Settings. Cancellation stops future renewal; access normally continues until the end of the paid or trial period shown by the store. Deleting your Tilde account or removing the app does not itself cancel a store subscription.

Apple or Google handles payment credentials and store refunds. Refund and money-back rights are governed by the store’s rules and applicable law. Use Restore Purchases when available or contact hello@tildeapp.ai if an entitlement does not match a valid purchase.

5. User-requested cloud features and privacy

Ordinary local inference does not require sending a chat to our servers. When you choose a cloud feature, Tilde sends the information needed to fulfill that specific request:

• Web Search sends a focused query or structured current-information request through Tilde’s proxy to the applicable provider.
• Cloud Review sends the selected request, local answer, and minimum review context to OpenAI for the second opinion you requested.
• Cloud Sync encrypts readable conversation records on a trusted device before upload; trusted devices hold the keys used to unlock them.

These features depend on third-party services and network availability. Their output and availability are not guaranteed. Our Privacy Policy explains the data boundaries, service providers, analytics, and retention in more detail.

6. Accounts, trusted devices, and acceptable use

You are responsible for your account, access to your email, Recovery Kit, trusted devices, and activity performed through them. Keep recovery material secure and promptly revoke a device you no longer control. Tilde Plus follows the signed-in Tilde account; do not share, sell, or transfer account access. Contact support if a valid purchase becomes associated with the wrong account.

You may not use Tilde to:

• violate law, another person’s rights, or applicable sanctions or export controls;
• distribute malware, interfere with the service, probe for vulnerabilities without authorization, or bypass security or usage controls;
• harass, exploit, defraud, or impersonate another person;
• access another person’s account or data without permission; or
• use output in a way that creates unlawful discrimination or foreseeable harm.

7. Your content, feedback, and our intellectual property

As between you and Tilde, you retain your rights in prompts, local conversations, memories, and feedback content you provide. You give us a limited license to process content only as needed to provide a feature you requested, handle feedback or support, protect the service, and comply with law. You represent that you have the rights needed to submit that content.

If you send product feedback, you allow us to use it without restriction or compensation, while any personal information within it remains subject to the Privacy Policy. Tilde’s app, branding, design, software, and documentation are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for rights expressly granted by us or applicable open-source licenses, no rights are transferred to you.

8. Availability and changes

We may improve, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features; change supported devices or models; and adjust future plan pricing or allowances. We will provide notice and any choices required by law before a material change takes effect for an existing paid period. Temporary outages, provider failures, model download constraints, or device limitations may make part of Tilde unavailable without blocking the remaining local experience.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tilde is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant that AI output or third-party information is accurate, complete, or suitable for your purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] and its affiliates, officers, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or business interruption arising from Tilde. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for Tilde in the twelve months before the claim or US $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limits. In that case, these terms apply only to the extent permitted, and non-waivable consumer rights remain unaffected.

10. Suspension, termination, governing law, and contact

You may stop using Tilde at any time. You may request account deletion using the controls identified in the final Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the service, comply with law, or address a material or repeated breach of these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive will continue after the agreement ends.

These Terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW STATE], without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to any non-waivable consumer right, courts located in [GOVERNING LAW COUNTY AND STATE] will have exclusive jurisdiction.

We may update these Terms. We will post the revised version and effective date and request renewed agreement when a change is material or legally requires it. If you do not agree to revised Terms, you must stop using the affected service before they take effect.
